About ISSSV Charity

When large scale devastations occur, our natural human instincts rise up from within us to give and share what we are blessed with and have with those who are in need. It is at times like this we are confused as to where we can donate our hard earned money and make sure that our pledge goes to the people who are in need and does not get absorbed into administrative costs and other unnecessary expenses.  Not to mention there are many flyby corporations that are set up to extort your donations for their personal benefits.

Our aim is to collect funds at times of need, whether it is a Natural Disasters like Earthquakes, Tsunamis, Flooding’s, Hurricanes / Cyclones, Volcanic Eruptions or Disease outbreaks.  By harnessing the power of our Chapter Members and their congregation we at ISSSV would like to help in whatever way we can to our affected communities at large.

That is why we at ISSSV have decided to partner with UNICEF - United States Fund to help us with our efforts. (“Funds raised will be donated to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF") The U.S. Fund for UNICEF supports UNICEF's work, and other efforts in support of the world's children, through fundraising, advocacy and education in the United States. UNICEF works with governments, civic leaders, celebrities, corporations, campus groups, religious organizations, teachers and people just like you; anyone willing to help advocate for the survival and well-being of every child.  The U.S. Fund for UNICEF meets the Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance's Standards for Charity Accountability. The U.S. Fund also meets Charity Navigator's highest financial standards for charities. Out of every dollar spent, 90.2 cents goes toward helping children. UNISEF spends just 7.1 cents on fundraising costs, and 2.7 cents on administration.

Support the ISSSV Charity for Nepal Earthquake relief effort

A devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake near Nepal's capital city of Kathmandu has claimed more than 3,000 lives, caused thousands of injuries, and destroyed homes and infrastructure. Nearly 1 million children require humanitarian assistance, and UNICEF is on the ground working to provide critical aid to children and families.

When it comes to emergency and disaster relief, UNICEF is there for children—before, during and after a crisis.

UNICEF has prepositioned supplies, including water purification tablets, hygiene kits, tarpaulins and nutrition supplies, and is working with government and other partners to meet children’s immediate needs in the areas of water and sanitation, child protection, health and nutrition. UNICEF staff are already deploying vital aid in the places hit hardest, but it is a rapidly evolving situation with rapidly evolving needs. UNICEF is working with requests for assistance for essential drugs, medical and surgical equipment (trauma kits) and tents for emergency hospitals.

“Funds raised will be donated to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF to support UNICEF’s response to the earthquake in Nepal.”

ISSSV donates $15,000 to UNICEF on May 22nd, 2015.

ISSSV had a successful campaign and with the help of its Chapter Members and Congregation was able to raise $15,000 towards the Nepal earthquake relief fund.  ISSSV will continue raising funds for this cause and forward all your donations to UNICEF.
